Garnet — the rainbow family you thought was red
Garnet is a family, not a colour — red is only its most famous member.
Garnet is not one red stone; it is a mineral FAMILY spanning a rainbow.
- Almandine & pyrope — the classic deep reds; abundant, affordable,
hardness 7-7.5. - Rhodolite — raspberry-pink-purple; the wardrobe-friendly favourite.
- Tsavorite — vivid green garnet from East Africa; rarer than emerald
in fine qualities, more durable. - Spessartine — mandarin orange, hugely popular in the 2010s market.
- Demantoid — green with fire dispersion that rivals diamond; the
collector's garnet. - Colour-change — blue-green daylight to reddish incandescent; the
conversation starter.
The maker's note — garnets are untreated in most cases (rare honesty
bonus), take polish beautifully, and survive bracelet duty.

What students say

— Elena A. (Australia) · published student feedback
“The skills learnt help me in choosing my purchases. I may consider helping a relative in the jewellery business and get included in the exhibitions.”
— Joyce T. (Singapore) · published student feedback
