The gem webinar replays are the best free gemmology education
on this site — full recorded sessions from the school, no sign-up. Here is
how to work the library.
Session families — identification and treatments; famous gem families
(ruby, sapphire, emerald, jade); trade practice (buying, disclosure,
valuation basics); pearl sessions in the
pearl library and jewellery-industry sessions in the
jewellery library.
The three-pass method
- Pass one — watch for enjoyment; nothing else.
- Pass two — with the gem e-book open, note terms.
- Pass three — pause and quiz yourself via
Name That Gem — the game's gem photos come from the school's
teaching library.
After the replays — the ladder: gemmology foundation (online
entry GT100e) then identification methods. Real
stones, real instruments, real certificates.
The Explore the Gem Globe interactive map pairs nicely with the
origin sessions.
